Dear JAM Pal,

Your situation is extremely subject to traps. It is very likely that there are tax planning opportunities for you to ultimatum mitigate dramatically your tax liability, but you should be aware that there are less and less loopholes when you involve the United Kingdom and France. Setting up an offshore trust or a company will certainly not be enough.

I know very well the tax issues of French citizens resident in the UK, and when they tend to seriously fail to identify the core reasons why their tax situation is so precarious. In your case, you need to engage in tax planning as soon as possible, as you would not be able to mitigate inheritance tax without breaking the law were you to die tomorrow. You are also very strongly vulnerable as regards income tax, particularly as regards income from capital, but you should be aware that it will not be enough to set up a legal entity in an offshore financial centre (OFC), although you would find a lot of people to offer such services.

You might wish to need advice with regard to this. We can also meet up in London if necessary. Please feel free to contact me for any further queries: ajso.ogame@gmail.com
