Tax Treaty with US

Asked in Offshore (General) for Belize

I understand that Belize signed a Tax treaty with the US that recognized US court judgments similar to other common law jurisdictions. Is this true?

TIEA tax information exchange US to Belize yes....
Civil lawsuits from US courts not tax related will have to be filed in Belize. Fraudulent transfers maybe enforced, like any other location.

Th signing of a tax treaty between countries should not be of any concern unless you are creating a structure that affords you the opportunity to evade tax or operate illegally. In the event that this is the case any jurisdiction will share your information.

If a structure is properly created then you will not have ownership or control and will be sufficiently distanced from the company for the tax treaty not to affect you. As such it is imperative that companies are carefully considered before being formed and that they are appropriately created using a variety of complex elements to create something whcih is truly confidential despite any tax treaty being applied.
