relocating to cyprus

Asked in Offshore (General) for Cyprus

I am an international contractor. I am considering selling up from my current base in western europe, and moving to cyprus, as it as an EU member, has a better climate and lower taxes. It would be a nicer place to be between contracts too.
Has anyone made such a move? Was it worthwhile? I already own a company in Cyprus, and it has been doing well.

Dear Sir,
I am an international consultant in financial services (kindly refer to my linkedin profile).
I would advise you to move to Mauritius as the costs of living and doing business is among the lowest in the world.
In addition to that, you are neighbour to Africa whereby you will get many opportunities to work as a contractor in addition to that you are doing.
Afterwards, you may consider redomiciling your company to Mauritius.
If you wish further advice, do not hesitate to contact me on pravesh1126@gmail.com.

Dear sir

I do not want to seem intrusve but did you consider malta?

Malta is also a country in eu with good climate, loads of double tax treaties, low tax (5% on trading income), good infrastructure and its geographical position makes ideal for logistics.

Should you further info about malta or a quote, please contact me on bkat@melita.com

Like cyprus , malta is also a country in the EU, has various tax treaties, very nice climate, in a perfect logistic position, good infrastructure and most of all a low effective tax rate (5% on trading income) etc.

Taking into consideration the recent tax developments of Cyprus and especially the non dom provision Cyprus is an ideal place to relocate. Also if you reside in Cyprus you have a strong argument against foreign tax authorities considering your Cyprus companies are artificial and tax abusive. Obviously it is an excellent tool against CFC rules. Also 50% of salaried income is tax exempt for professionals earning more than 100.000 euros. On the other hand you have to leave your country, friends and family but Cyprus is a good place to live.
