E-TRADING COMPANY

Asked in Offshore (General) for Estonia

Hello! I am looking for the best possible low tax country for the following business: selling online downloadable applications for mobile operation systems. This is a 100% online business. Please recommend me a country with lowest taxes for such a company, a suitable bank with good conditions for an account opening and low charges for credit cards payments, and perhaps a country with no VAT applicable. Thank you in advance!

Dear Anna For an e-trading company, it is always advisable to locate the business in a reputable jurisdiction as this will give credibility to your site as well as less problems with banks. Therefore, I would suggest to go for an EU Member State rather than an offshore jurisdiction elsewhere. The lowest tax rate that may be achieved in this case would be through a Maltese structure, where a combination of tax refunds and full imputation system, you will end up with an effective tax rate of 5%. As regards VAT, you need to keep in mind the VAT treatment of electronically supplied services. If you were to trade through a non-EU offshore company, the company would still be required to register for VAT purposes in an EU jurisdiction and charge VAT to the private customers located in the various EU Member States according to each country's VAT rate. Therefore, the VAT rate of the Member State in which the purchaser is established would apply. In case of a Maltese company, then no VAT should apply where the customers are outside the EU and Maltese 18% VAT should apply on supplies to customers established in the EU. Hallo Anna, Within EU, Cyprus and Malta are worth considering. Outside EU, please think of Panama or Dubai. We can assist you with making your choice, setting up the company and also introducing you to a bank that would suit your needs. Please email us at info@freemontgroup.com.

Dear Anna, first we don't sell companies ;-) we have setup before a e-company in Madeira and it was a perfect match low tax, low vat and a Portuguese VAT number. http://www.newmadeira.com/ is a great start, good service in English. Isle of Mann is also good for e-business but the government can impose rule where you need to hire a or multiple professionals of IoM to run your business and that is a big downer ... We checked Malta also but be aware of getting refunds back from governments ... Why can't they keep it simple and just charge a flat fee? Cyprus not a lot of clients we found like to transfer money to there. HK great solution except all big European clients don't want HK invoices and the VAT hassle

Hello Anna, Since this is going to be 100% online business, why not register a company completely offshore. For instance, we could help you incorporate in Belize, which has 0% taxation for offshore activities and some good banks. We could also setup an offshore merchant account, which may be helpful in your line of business. If you would like to obtain additional information, just send us an email at info@unitrustcapital.com We are an offshore company formation specialists with over 10 years of experience and thousands of companies incorporated.
