Rayner Essex Appoints Rakesh Dabasia as Private Client Tax Director

London and St Albans based accountants Rayner Essex has appointed Rakesh Dabasia as Private Client Tax Director.
He joins Rayner Essex from the London office of Mazars LLP where he was a Senior Tax Manager advising High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) private clients and their structures with assets spread across multiple jurisdictions.
He has regularly presented at ICAEW and CIOT events and to external networks on non-UK domicile matters and planning.
Prior to joining Mazars, he headed the Reyl Bank Private Office in Zurich. He specialised in supporting clients from regions that included Africa (in particular South Africa), the Middle-East and the non-UK domicile market in the UK.
Rakesh qualified with Grant Thornton and then worked for 10 years with the Royal Bank of Canada's tax advisory teams in both Jersey and in London. Here he advised UHNW private clients and offshore trustees as well as developing tax services for new emerging market clients.
He has an Undergraduate degree from the University of Essex Business School, is a Fellow of the Association of Tax Technicians, is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, the Society of Tax and Estate Practitioners and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.
His areas of special interest include taxation of non-UK domiciles, offshore trusts, International tax planning for private clients, private equity fund structures, UK property structures, wealth management and private / family office services.
