Yet another month and once again the pensions related press has been dominated by the New Zealand QROPS issues. There is an article here saying that the legislation has been amended so as to protect QROPS there and another that outlines the amount of lobbying in NZ against any legislation against QROPS. Well see over time Im sure.
We also attach an article about Malta QROPS and associated benefits. Whilst we dont take every word as gospel it is an interesting commentary. As weve recently launched our own Malta QROPS, were happy to suggest that you read it!
In addition we attach a piece on Gaines Cooper, who has lost the latest round of his residency case in the Supreme Court, together with a noteworthy overview of QNUPS.
As usual we have to declare that we are a multi jurisdictional QROPS Provider (IOM and Guernsey as well as Malta) and do not include these articles for any other reason that we find them interesting. We didnt write them and we dont necessarily agree with them or endorse them
- Article seemingly saying that the NZ QROPS problem has gone away
- Article about lobbying in NZ against new legislation on QROPS
- Article outlining some tax issues for expats in NZ
- Interesting article about benefits of Malta QROPS
