There have been some interesting developments in the wide world of QROPS in recent weeks. For example it seems that Guernsey may be looking to re-enter the market after their recent rebuff by HMRC. I suppose they won’t now be suing them in the near future. Plus the legal row about Singapore QROPS looks to be set to enter a new phase as HMRC may now be sued, with the scheme members having been granted permission to proceed by the UK High Court. This could be extremely interesting – watch this space.

As reported previously Gibraltar is set to re-enter the marketplace with a low tax structure post age 60, and Qatar are not interested in being a QROPS jurisdiction, preferring to focus on their oil wealth presumably.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss any aspect of QROPS/QNUPS or have any jurisdictional queries
