There have been some interesting developments in the wide world of QROPS in recent weeks. For example it seems that Guernsey may be looking to re-enter the market after their recent rebuff by HMRC. I suppose they wont now be suing them in the near future. Plus the legal row about Singapore QROPS looks to be set to enter a new phase as HMRC may now be sued, with the scheme members having been granted permission to proceed by the UK High Court. This could be extremely interesting watch this space.
As reported previously Gibraltar is set to re-enter the marketplace with a low tax structure post age 60, and Qatar are not interested in being a QROPS jurisdiction, preferring to focus on their oil wealth presumably.
Please dont hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss any aspect of QROPS/QNUPS or have any jurisdictional queries
