The Central Bank of Cyprus has announced that the Tenth Decree for Temporary Restrictive Measures on Transactions has come into force. The new Decree entails significant relaxations in the measures in place. It has to be noted that following another decree (First decree on foreign banks see below) the measures do not apply to international clients of branches and subsidiaries of foreign banks operating in Cyprus.

We reported about the signing of the Double Tax Treaty (DTT) between Cyprus and Finland and its details on 21 November 2012. The DTT will enter in to force on 28 April 2013 and will, in general, apply as from 1 January 2014.
As last reported in Newsletter 13, a Double Tax Treaty (DTT) was signed between Cyprus and the United Arab Emirates on 27 February 2011. The DTT was ratified by the United Arab Emirates on April 2013.
Payment of Annual Levy for companies going for liquidation
As per a notification issued by the Registrar of Companies on 25 April 2013, the Bankruptcies and Liquidations Division will not accept any filings for voluntary liquidations unless the Annual Levy for the years 2012 and 2013 of EUR350 is paid.
For companies which are under liquidation, either voluntary or as per a court order before the date of release of the notification are not affected by the above mentioned requirement. Continue reading ?
