Turks And Caicos Introducing New Work Permit Regime

by Mike Godfrey, Lowtax.net, Washington
04 April, 2016

The Turks and Caicos Islands Government has advised businesses that it will not be possible to submit work permit applications this month.

The implementation of the Immigration Ordinance 2015 and the Turks and Caicos Islander Status Ordinances 2015, which took effect from April 1, has introduced new documentation, processes, and procedures for work permit applications.

Officials are currently being trained on the new regime. Consequently, applicants will have to wait until May 2, 2016, to submit new applications.

Existing applications under the old regime will be processed as usual and temporary work permit applications are not covered by the one-month moratorium.
