Trinidad and Tobago is proceeding with its recently announced budget measure: the amalgamation of the territory's Board of Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise Division.
The new authority, to be called the Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority, will be responsible for existing responsibilities and functions of both entities, including tax collection, investigating tax evasion, conducting audits, and border protection.
The territory's government said it is guaranteeing all Board and Customs Division staff a position in the new authority at terms and conditions no less favorable than those they currently enjoy.
