The Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone will introduce an electronic filing program and phase out paper filing obligations.
Last year, Shanghai Archives and Pudong Archives worked with the zone administration to develop an electronic filing program to make file transfer, authentication, and storage more reliable and safer.
The program is now in trial use and has passed a technical appraisal by national authorities. It will be promoted across Shanghai..
Feng Wei, Deputy Party Secretary of Pudong New Area, said that the electronic filing program will play a key role in popularization of one-stop-shop public services, making online application, processing, licensing, and certification possible. He added that the new system can also lower government costs and enhance public supervision.
The Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone was founded in 2013 and offers new companies a number of tax preferences. It comprises a bonded area, high-tech park, financial area, and export processing zone.
