Oman's Duqm Special Economic Zone recently held a seminar to inform domestic investors of the opportunities available in the free zone.
The seminar, which was held at the headquarters of the Dhofar branch of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was the latest in a series of promotional seminars and events launched at the beginning of this year.
During the seminar, the Duqm Special Economic Zone Authority's Vice Chief Executive Officer, Ismail Bin Ahmed Al Bloushi, pointed out that there are a number of ongoing projects in the free zone, such as the Duqm port, a dry dock, a refinery, an airport, heavy petrochemical industrial projects, and warehouses.
The Duqm Special Economic Zone was established in 2011. The business incentives offered by the zone include a waiver or reduction in corporate tax and customs duties, duty-free sales to domestic and Gulf Cooperation Council markets, 100 percent foreign ownership, and free repatriation of profits and capital.
