Malta's Government has announced it is setting up a taskforce to help implement the island's national blockchain strategy released earlier in the year.
The "Blockchain Taskforce" will be chaired by Vincent Muscat, a senior official in Malta's civil service, who will be assisted by other legal and blockchain experts.
The Taskforce will help Malta's Government evaluate proposals to exploit opportunities blockchain technology offers for added efficiency in public sector processes and services, as well as looking at the use of blockchain to enhance the island's legal operational framework.
Interest in Malta's blockchain initiative from local and international private investors has already been significant, according to a recent government statement, and the island's big seven financial services advisory companies have been asked to contribute towards these efforts to grow Malta's digital economy.
