Malta Sees Greater Investment Flows In 2016

Malta's National Statistics Office has reported a healthy rise in both inward and outbound investment in 2016.
Foreign direct investment in Malta reached EUR161.4bn (USD190.5bn) last year, an increase of EUR9.5bn over the previous year, and Maltese entities invested EUR62.1bn overseas.
The island's Ministry of the Economy said financial services and insurance contributed in large part to these figures.
Malta's Ministry of the Economy said the Government is committed to developing the island's physical and technological infrastructure, reducing bureaucracy, implementing consistent macroeconomic policies, and guaranteeing property rights, to ensure the territory remains attractive for investors.
