Jersey has appointed a new Greater China Business Development Director to promote the island's financial services offering in the Far East.

Based in Jersey Finance's Hong Kong office, An Kelles will be responsible for expanding Jersey's activities in the region, identifying opportunities for Jersey financial services businesses, and building relationships between Hong Kong and Greater China and Jersey. Kelles takes over from her predecessor, Yumei Zhang.

Jersey Finance, the island's financial services promotional agency, set up its office in Hong Kong in 2009, and in 2014 established a "Launchpad" office in Shanghai.

Jersey Finance Deputy CEO, Richard Corrigan, commented: "We see the Greater China region as an area of growth and opportunity for the future prospects of Jersey's finance industry, and we are continuing to expand our range of promotional and business development activities, and embed Jersey's reputation as a high quality jurisdiction in the region through, for example, our Asia roadshow program."
