Guernsey recently hosted Robin Walker, the UK government minister with responsibility for overseeing the UK's engagement with the Crown Dependencies on Brexit matters.
This was Walker's first official visit to Guernsey to discuss the UK's exit from the EU and the implications for the island. During his visit, Walker met with political and industry representatives to discuss a wide range of current issues and priorities, including the Repeal Bill, financial services, citizens' rights, and fishing.
Walker also met with representatives from Alderney and Sark to discuss the implications of Brexit for the islands and the current priority areas for both governments.
Commenting on his visit to Guernsey, Walker said: "As we continue our negotiations with the EU, we are working closely with Guernsey to make sure we understand the Bailiwick's priorities. I am hoping that by visiting Guernsey today, as part of a wider tour encompassing Jersey and the Isle of Man, we will increase our collective understanding of the opportunities and challenges our EU exit poses."
Walker has also visited Jersey and the Isle of Man as part of his summer tour.
