Gavin St Pier, the President of Guernsey's Policy and Resources Committee, has reiterated Guernsey's support for the automatic exchange of beneficial ownership information in a letter to Britain's Prime Minister.
The statement follows St Pier's recent election as the successor to Guernsey's Chief Minister.
In his letter to David Cameron, St Pier said: "We look forward to your government signing an agreement on sharing beneficial ownership information with us by June 17, or preferably earlier. Work has already commenced on the detailed groundwork to establish a consolidated register. A consultation on a proposed framework for a central register will be issued by the end of May. This will be built on the existing regime for the timely exchange of information between Guernsey and the UK enforcement authorities."
