Guernsey's Commerce and Employment Minister, Kevin Stewart, has welcomed the opening of a Guernsey Finance office in Hong Kong as an exciting new chapter in the relationship between Hong Kong and Guernsey.
Guernsey Finance, the island's promotional agency for the financial services industry internationally, said the larger presence in Asia reflects current industry trends and is fundamental to the finance sector's future strategy, particularly as Hong Kong is such an important hub not only for China, but South East Asia overall.
Julian Carey, Head of Client Services at Orangefield Legis, said of the office's opening that Guernsey is highly regarded by the Asian financial services market and encouraged local firms to promote Guernsey's offerings in Asia.
