Guernsey's financial services regulator, the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China Insurance Regulatory Commission.

The MoU sets out a statement of intent to establish a framework for mutual assistance and to facilitate the exchange of information between the authorities.

The signing of the MoU means the Guernsey Financial Services Commission has now concluded MoUs with all of China's financial services regulators, including the China Banking Regulatory Commission and the China Securities Regulatory Commission.

William Mason, Director General of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, said the signing of the MoU was "... symbolic of the openness of Guernsey's insurance sector to Chinese-led business."
