Business owners in the Caribbean territory of Grenada have been reminded that the annual stamp tax filing amnesty ends this month.
The amnesty started on June 1, 2017, and ends on August 31, 2017. It allows businesses who have not submitted an annual stamp tax return for the tax periods 2013, 2014, or 2015 to file outstanding returns in return for filing penalties being waived.
Annual stamp tax is computed by applying a percentage to the gross receipts of a business. The tax of any given year is calculated on gross receipts of the previous year. This means the amnesty tax periods of 2013, 2014, and 2015 will apply to gross receipts for financial years 2012, 2013, and 2014, respectively.
Outstanding returns can be filed in paper form or online via the island's online government portal.
