Gibraltar's financial services regulator, the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission, has joined 21 who have agreed to cooperate on audit matters.
The Commission and other jurisdictions, under the auspices of the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR), commit to enhancing investor protection by improving audit quality globally. In signing up, they also recognize the need for cooperation on matters relating to the oversight of auditors falling within their respective regulatory jurisdictions.
The IFIAR is a global body of 52 independent audit regulators, established in September 2006 with 18 initial members. It promotes collaboration and consistency in regulatory activity, and provides a platform for dialogue with other international organizations interested in audit quality.
