A delegation from Gibraltar recently visited Singapore and Hong Kong to promote the island's financial services and shipping sector tax offerings.
The delegation included representatives from Gibraltar Finance, the territory's financial services promotional agency; a contingent from the private sector, including lawyers, accountants, and fund administrators; and representatives from the Gibraltar Stock Exchange.
During the visit to Singapore from April 7-8, 2016, the Gibraltar delegation held technical sessions, including a presentation for some 90 professionals, principally from the funds and asset management sectors. The two-part briefing session focused on fund structuring and marketing, and securitization for alternative asset managers.
Prior to the technical sessions, Albert Isola, the Minister with responsibility for Financial Services and Maritime Services, updated the delegates on current developments in Gibraltar.
Isola also attended meetings with private sector professionals and visited the United Kingdom High Commissioner.
The delegation from Gibraltar then visited Hong Kong for a similar series of events.
