Gibraltar Finance, the promotional agency on behalf of the island's financial services industry, has released an outline of its plans for the year ahead.
The agency said it will focus more of its efforts on the UK and Swiss markets, including by attending conferences and events. In addition, the agency said it will continue to try to win business from Asia and Bermuda by hosting "Gibraltar Days" there, and a "Gibraltar Day" is planned to be held in the United States towards the end of 2016.
The agency also intends to support efforts to promote Gibraltar as a territory that is compliant with international tax compliance initiatives and ensure that Gibraltar does not appear on any tax blacklists.
Finally, Gibraltar Finance will manage and supervise a central register of information on the beneficial ownership of entities established in Gibraltar, which is expected to be introduced in the second quarter of 2016. The Government is currently discussing this with the industry.
