Dubai Duty Free Sees Record Sales On 30th Anniversary

Dubai Duty Free enjoyed record daily sales on December 20, 2013, as it celebrated its 30th anniversary, according to an official statement.

Sales reached AED111.88m (USD30.65m) on the day, helped by special discounts of up to 30 percent. The figure represents a 40 percent increase from a year earlier.

Dubai Duty Free had a record-breaking year in 2013, with sales reaching AED6.65bn, an 11.4 percent increase from 2012. It also experienced a monthly sales record in December with AED700m.

The duty free zone currently operates 26,000 square meters of retail space at Dubai International Airport. It also has 2,500 square meters of retail space at Al Maktoum International.
