Dubai Airport Free Zone (DAFZA) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to join an e-commerce platform launched by Dubai's Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with Alibaba Group, China's leading internet trading website.
Dubai Chamber's e-commerce platform is intended to support members to market their products internationally, free-of-charge through an e-catalogue. The platform includes safeguards with the aim of ensuring a club of trusted traders. As a result of DAFZA joining the platform, companies registered in the free zone will be able to sell their goods and services through the service.
To encourage businesses to use the portal, Dubai Chamber and Alibaba also offer a number of training and awareness sessions on e-commerce for members.
Earlier, Dubai Chamber signed MoUs with authorities in the emirates Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah, with the Fujairah Chambers, and the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
DAFZA offers a number of tax incentives to businesses, including 100 percent exemption from corporate tax and import and export tax, and allows 100 percent foreign ownership.
