Cypriot Regulator Issues Filing Deadline Reminder

by Mike Godfrey, Lowtax.net, Washington
10 April, 2014

The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) has issued a reminder this week instructing companies governed by the Law on Companies providing Administrative Services and Related Matters of 2012 (ASP Law) to submit their internal audit reports by April 30, 2014.

CySEC, which supervises the investment services market and corporate services providers, is responsible for granting licenses to Administrative Service Providers (ASPs). The Commission also oversees firms' compliance with EU anti-money laundering (AML) rules.

CySEC has reminded firms that although licence applications are still pending, annual reports are due within three months of the calendar year end, and, while minor delays are accepted, the regulator has no authority to grant extensions.
