Channel Islands' Credit Ratings Reaffirmed Despite Brexit

International credit rating agency Standard & Poor's (S&P) has maintained Jersey and Guernsey's credit rating in its most recent biannual review.

Welcoming the decision, the jurisdictions said the ratings demonstrate Jersey and Guernsey's capacity to meet their financial commitments in both the short and long term, and provide certainty to business and the community.

S&P reportedly said its ratings reflect the Crown Dependencies' strong and flexible institutions, strong economies, and robust fiscal framework. While highlighting the risks posed by the uncertainty of the UK's exit from the EU, S&P said it balanced this against the significant economic resilience of both islands.
