Barbados Tax Authority To Start Paying 2014 Tax Refunds

by Mike Godfrey, Lowtax.net, Washington
24 April, 2018

The Barbados Revenue Authority will start processing 2014 tax refunds following a fresh injection of funds.

The backlog in refund payments has arisen because overpaid taxes are held in the country's consolidated fund and the Authority is only able to process refunds when money is released from this fund.

Revenue Commissioner Margaret Sivers said refunds will be processed for the 2014 year starting with the longest outstanding refunds. The goal is to have all refunds for the 2014 year processed by month-end.

Once all 2014 refunds have been processed, the Authority will direct its efforts to the 2015 and 2016 tax years, subject to funding.
