Barbados Lists VAT-Exempt Foodstuffs

by Mike Godfrey, Lowtax.net, Washington
25 September, 2015

The Barbados Government has published a revised list of VAT-free food products.

The fourteen-page list also includes tariff heading descriptions, tariff item descriptions, and the corresponding tariff numbers.

The publication of the list follows changes to Barbados's value-added tax (VAT) regime, announced in the 2015 Budget, that entered into force on September 1, 2015.

Items not on the list are subject to VAT at the standard rate of 17.5 percent.
