Bahamas To Merge Tax Agencies

The Bahamas is to establish a single Central Revenue Administration, with the merging of five departments covering business licenses, real property, excise tax, the first home owner exemption, and value added tax.
The Ministry of Finance announced that these services will now all operate from a single location.
The amalgamation and relocation of the various tax departments to a single premises is part of an effort to modernize the tax system and tax administration and improve relations with taxpayers.
The change of address and merger will be complete from July 13, 2015.
