The Compliance Commission in the Bahamas has extended the deadline for the submission of Anti-Money Laundering/ Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) Examination Forms from March 31, to April 30, 2016.
The extension applies only to forms covering 2015; the Commission's deadline for the submission of AML/CFT Examination Forms will remain March 31 each year.
The Commission has also issued a reminder to financial institutions supervised by the Commission and accountants that prior to the commencement of an AML/CFT On-site Examination, the accountant must obtain a Letter of Appointment from the Commission. The Letter of Appointment authorizes the accountant to conduct AML/CFT On-site Examinations on behalf of the Commission.
Accountants should use the Commission's current AML/CFT Examination Forms to complete examinations. The forms can be downloaded from the Commission's website under the menu heading "How Do I/ Get an On-site or Off-site Examination Form."
