There are no personal taxes, social security contributions or other statutory deductions from salaries or wages paid in Qatar, regardless of the individual’s residence status. A Qatari national working for a company that has a pension scheme must contribute 5% of basic salary each month. Individuals carrying on a trade in the country are taxed on any profits arising from their business in Qatar, in which case the corporation tax rules apply.
