Russia's Ministry of Finance has said it is prepared to terminate the Dutch tax agreement if ongoing negotiations fail.
The Ministry said it has held several rounds of negotiations with representatives from the Netherlands but neither side has been able to agree to changes. Russia wishes to raise the rate of withholding tax on dividends and interest income derived from Russia to 15 percent.
Russia has previously agreed equal amendments to its tax treaties with Cyprus, Luxembourg, and Malta. These terms were offered to the Netherlands, the Ministry said. Revisions put forward by Dutch negotiators were rejected, it said.
