Executive Summary: Located in North America to the south of the United States, Mexico is a 2m sq km Spanish-speaking country with a population of 120.3m (July 2014 est.). Mexico's USD1.3 trillion economy has become increasingly oriented toward manufacturing in the 20 years since the North American Free Trade Agreement entered into force. The three-party "Pact for Mexico" reform agenda aims to improve competitiveness and economic growth across the Mexican economy. Special tax incentives exist for under Mexico's “maquiladora” tax regime.
