Despite recent economic hiccups, political and corruption controversies, Spain remains a key business partner for many economies in Western Europe and globally. Positive notions have been evaluated by business analysts, including for the Doing Business Report for 2017. While the growth is modest with only one rank ahead, reaching 32nd place, in this competitive segment of the report, every improvement counts.
But in which segments does Spain show improvement? Significant growth is visible in the paying taxes segment with a jump of 12 positions, which is a key reason for Spains overall improvement of its economic scene. Further improvement is observed in enforcing contracts and resolving insolvency sectors.
Such positive notions are not left unnoticed from key trade partners of Spain. The vast majority of UK-based firms have confirmed their interest to continue working with their Spanish counterparts, and invest in the Spanish market, despite the negative scenarios surrounding BREXIT. Currently, UK-related investments account to more than 160,000 jobs created.
Furthermore, Spain managed to land a large bilateral investment deal with Qatar, amounting to US$1 billion for cooperation in Latin American business setups. Such agreement will boost both Qatars plans for increase in global expansions, as well as Spains place as the perfect gateway to Latin America economies.
