Portuguese business finds a new global partner in the face of Uruguay

What better way for European and Portuguese business to enter the Latin America markets other than Uruguay business setup? With recent turmoil in Brazil and its economy (and general perception in that matter) alternatives in the large continents begin to surface and present themselves.
The Uruguay promotion agency launched a campaign to lure EU businesses with Southern European countries in particular. During a recent meeting organized in Lisbon, the current Secretary of State, Teresa Ribeiro advised local businesses to increase their participation in Uruguays economy. She said that "Uruguay is a gateway to the entire Latin American region, now more than ever, with the negotiations going on between the European Union and Mercosur,"
But what are the strong points of Uruguay that the country can bring to table? For one, the current Government is strengthening infrastructure, strong laws and increasingly attractive investment opportunities.
