Kosovo and Serbia share sad and problematic past, but experts believe a possible membership in the European Union may bring peace to their problematic Balkan region.
Both countries suffer economically from their ongoing disputes as Serbia officially has not recognised Kosovo's political identity. And while both have interests in joining the European Union, Kosovo may be on the right track by following the Trade and Political Act signed in Brussels.
The European Union's Commissioner of Enlargement Johannes Hahn said in Strasbourg recentlythat Kosovo has reached "a milestone in our (EU) mutual relationship, in particular for the European aspirations".
In the meantime, foreign investors are reluctant to focus their efforts into expanding in Serbia, as they describe doing business in the country as "institutional chaos". This is a pity as many business men enjoy the openness and welcoming nature of the Serbian society.
