Statutory minimum number of members
Every Hong Kong Company is required to have at least one member who is willing to take up a minimum of at least one share.
Company Name
Choosing your HK business name is the first step in applying for incorporation. To make sure that the name you would like to use, is available you can search the Companies Registry database.
Hong Kong company can have either an English name and a Chinese name or both. However, the company name can't be a combination of English and Chinese characters. Every company name must end with the word "limited".
Any name which may give an impression that the company is connected with the Government is not acceptable.
Company Registration Number
Once the company has been registered the Registrar allots a company registration number. The registration number is the identification number of the company and must be used to in all correspondence and documents with the Companies Registry.
Business Registration Number
Business Registration Number is the number on the company's business certificate and it's used by the Inland Revenue Department.
Registered Office
Every HK business is required to have a registered office as from the date of incorporation. Furthermore, the company must report the registered office address to the Companies Registry. All communication and notices will be sent to this address.
