Doing business in the Middle East, as especially UAE is becoming more affordable and desirable for all global businesses, but until recently this was not a trend among European food chains. With large influx of expats and increasingly curious locals, the UAE markets represent a melting pot of cultures and businesses that share ideas and promote modern lifestyle.
However, more and more businesses are aiming towards the lucrative business hubs in the Middle East. Most recent one is the larger gourmet burger chain Big Ferdinand. The French chain of restaurants has more than 25 premium outlets in France and aims to open its first burger place in Dubai this week.
The burger-chain's plans are for swift expansion with more than 15 boutique burger restaurants operational by 2022. International competitors have joined in and currently Food Quest also aims to position itself as important player in this booming market for international foods.
Currently, a total of 58 burger merchants have brought in their concepts for Dubai with almost 300 joints operational today a significant step in the right direction. Healy Consultants expects increase in overall numbers of international food chains to triple in size over the course of the next five years.
