This bulletin is for professional Advisers and members of the public should not rely upon it.
Another mixed bunch of articles about QROPS and a bit about QNUPS. Again the main focus is on giving information with a few updates in addition.
The main news is that despite the prophets of gloom, there was no further punitive activity against QROPS in the latest UK Budget. The main update was about the 55% taxation of Singapore QROPS members by HMRC. This has been going on for a long time, but the message is caveat emptor choose selectively and carefully, and if it looks too good to be true, it usually is.
There is an article about QROPS bank accounts in Cyprus, which is topical, but again the same message applies, and a couple of articles about UK expatriates taking their pension income in £ and how it is affecting them, similarly topical.
We have played no part in writing these articles, nor does their inclusion mean that we must endorse them. We are a multi- jurisdictional provider and consultant with QROPS in Malta, Gibraltar and Isle of Man and options in Australia and New Zealand and QNUPS in Malta, Gibraltar, Isle of Man and Guernsey, so we can be objective about choice of jurisdiction.
