Jurisdiction for offshore holding company?- South African shareholders. Business operations in Zimbabwe

Asked in Offshore (General) for Labuan

0
I am trying to assess the best jurisdiction for an offshore holding company. The business operations & revenues are generated in Zimbabwe. Management & shareholders mostly South African citizens. Equity partners most likely to be US based or Latin America. From my research I'm favourable towards Panama as an offshore jurisdiction over and above Mauritius or anywhere else. I'm skeptical of any country that derives a large amount of their revenue from their status as an offshore haven. Where would the best jurisdiction be for a holding company be based on the above? Thanks

the "best" is a question of personal taste I would say. Why do you have to go offshore, this could create problems for US investors at home. May be its better to stay onshore in a good tax jurisdiction like Malta info(at)eu-hub.com Eu-Hub Malta Limited www.eu-hub.com

Are you sure you want to go offshore? The jurisdictions like NZ and Singapore (and also maybe Dutch foiundations)whould be an excellent structure for this. If you would like to discuss please contact: francken@inassetmanagement.com. Irina Francken

Dear John, I think any offshore or tax heaven jurisdiction would apply for CFC rules in the US or any developed country in Latin American. If you aim to collect Zimbawe dividends but not to pay income tax at the shareholder's countries you should look for a serious jurisdiction with a special tax regime.
