Panasonic Avionics Corporation, a world leader in in-flight entertainment and communications, has unveiled a new state-of-the-art facility at Dubai Airport Freezone, the low-tax financial center located in the United Arab Emirates.
The 148,000-square-foot Dubai facility will house over 300 employees across multiple disciplines including field engineering, finance, human resources, technical services, and manufacturing.
The new hub will provide software development and testing, media integration, harness manufacturing, repair and overhaul, and real-time fleet monitoring services for more than 85 airlines from 52 countries across the Middle East, Central and Southern Asia, and Africa (MECSAA) region.
Welcoming Panasonic's new facility, Mohammed Al Zarooni, Director General of the Dubai Airport Freezone Authority (DAFZA), said: "The presence of companies that [are] acknowledged innovators and leaders in their field is integral to fulfilling DAFZA's commitment to provide high-calibre integrated solutions to the global business community. Given the rapid and dynamic evolution of today's avionics industry, establishing a base here in the Middle East's leading Freezone enables Panasonic Avionics to pursue new levels of success ... For our part, DAFZA will ensure that the facility operates within an environment that is conducive to innovation, sustainability, and excellence."
The Dubai Airport Freezone was established in 1996. Business incentives offered include exemption from corporate tax, personal income tax, and import and export duties. Companies established in the zone may also be 100 percent foreign owned.
