Mauritius Cuts Company Registration Fee

by Jason Gorringe, Lowtax.net, London

Mauritius has slashed the registration fee for a small private company with a turnover not exceeding MUR10m (USD276,700) from MUR2,500 to MUR500.

Announced in the Budget, the measure is intended to support and encourage small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Other initiatives to support SMEs have included the creation of a one-stop shop, to provide support, financing, and information to SMEs and also to process applications for all permits and licences. MauBank was also created to ensure start-ups have access to finance.
