Dubai Airport Freezone Authority (DAFZA) has announced that new company registrations in the zone rose by 14 percent in the first half of this year.
Multinational companies accounted for 27 percent of the new company registrations and 15 percent of new leased office space. In addition, the overall occupancy rate of offices at DAFZA increased by 23 percent during the period.
The business incentives offered by DAFZA include exemptions from corporate tax, personal income tax, and import and export duties. Companies established in the zone may also be fully owned by foreign entities.
The free zone announced last month that it is planning a major expansion to meet growing demand from companies wishing to set up there.
