Barbados Legislates For Incorporated Cell Companies

Barbados's Parliament has passed the Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2016, which enables the establishment of incorporated cell companies (ICCs).

ICCs are different to protected cell companies in that each cell is a separate legal entity, with its own board, officers, and assets ringfenced from other cells.

The establishment of the framework for ICCs is intended to make Barbados's insurance industry more competitive in particular.
