Malaysia: Country and Foreign Investment
Malaysia has has a population of just over 30 million inhabitants, spread over almost 330,000km². The country has two main parts - West Malaysia, which occupies a significant part of the Malay Peninsula and borders Thailand to the north and Singapore to the south - and East Malaysia on the island of Borneo, which shares borders with Brunei and Indonesia.
Malaysia's climate is categorised as equatorial, and is hot and humid all year. It is classed as one of the 17 'megadiverse countries' that harbor the majority of the Earth's species. The majority of Malaysia is covered by rainforest, containing approximately 210 mammal species, 620 bird species, 250 reptile species, and 150 frog species.
