Greece: Country and Foreign Investment

Geography

Greece is made up from a peninsular at the southern end of the Balkans and over 6,000 islands and islets in the Aegean and Ionian Seas. Due to the large number of islands, Greece has the 11th longest coastline in the world. Greece shares land borders with Bulgaria, the Republic of Macedonia, Albania, and Turkey, and shares maritime borders with Cyprus, Egypt, Italy, and Libya.

Over 80% of the country consists of mountainous regions, making it one of the most mountainous countries in Europe. The tallest of Greece's peaks is Mount Olympus, the mythical home of the ancient Greek Gods.
