It’s a really busy time for articles as the battle of the jurisdictions rumbles on: fees reducing in Guernsey, Voluntary Codes of Conduct, a fair share of ‘doom and gloom’ articles, and the news that HMRC seem likely to give the green light to the 50C QROPS on the Isle of Man.

The major point that is starting to emerge is the growing realisation that there are crucial differences in jurisdictions in how QROPS is operated. We have been saying for some time that one size does not fit all in QROPS Jurisdictions, you can reduce your fees all you want, but if it is not the right jurisdiction for a particular client, it is probably bad advice. The fact that there are probably seven jurisdictions mentioned in these articles gives some idea of how complex this can be for Advisers.
